Teen rolls vehicle to end pursuit
Essex boy fled at 100 mph
SIDNEY – The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office reports a pursuit early Sunday morning involving a 14-year-old Essex boy.
A sheriff’s office press release says a deputy attempted to stop a Ford Explorer traveling without its headlights near the Walmart at Shenandoah at 1:30 a.m.
The sheriff says a pursuit started and reached speeds of 100 mph. The driver lost control near 200th Street and B Avenue, rolled into a ditch and landed on the passenger side.
The press release says the teen took the vehicle while his mom was asleep. He was transported to the juvenile detention center in Council Bluffs.
