TECUMSEH – Brooklyn Proplesch, 23, of Nebraska City was sentenced to two years in prison and two years post-release supervision for setting a fire in her an ex-girlfriend's residence in Cook in 2019.

An arrest affidavit says Proplesch had been stalking the woman since August of 2018 and the woman rebuffed Proplesch’s offer to get back together earlier the day of the fire.

The affidavit says the lighter fluid was applied at various locations in the house and boots were set on fire, burning a rug and portions of a wood floor. The affidavit says Proplesch later talked with the woman about setting the back porch on fire.

The woman’s dog was missing, but Proplesch later told the woman she could find him at an Omaha residence. The dog had been taken by the Humane Society.

She is scheduled for sentencing in Otoe County in separate cases. She will be sentenced for  for violation of a protection order and theft  on March 15.
