FALLS CITY  - The Richardson County Board discussed the construction of a feed lot at its Jan. 26 meeting.

Meeting minutes say Jerry McKim met with the board concerning the feedlot along Highway 159 south of Falls City.  Most of the remaining section is owned by T&M Cattle of Falls City.

Commissioners informed McKim that the county does not have zoning regulations. The Richardson County Planning Commission last presented a draft proposal for zoning regulations in 2002.

McKim suggested that the county establish zoning regulations to manage conflicts between feedlots and rural houses.

In other action, County Clerk Mary Eickhoff told commissioners that the county has received a total of $341,652 from the state’s local government Coronavirus relief program. The county clerk’s office submitted an application for the funding to provide financial support for law enforcement, dispatchers and detention center personnel, as well as emergency management.
