NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City Street Commissioner Vic Johns declared a snow emergency shortly at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Johns said there is no parking on city streets that are marked with the blue snow route signs. That primarily covers the central business district and side streets.

The snow emergency will go until 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Residents are asked to park on private lots and driveways.

Johns said this is a serious snow. He reminded residents that the city has authority to ticket and tow any vehicle in violation of the snow route ordinance.
