Train traffic halts ambulance at Syracuse
Activity returns to rail line after 17-year dormancy
SYRACUSE - Trains at Highway 50 and First Street in Syracuse continue to be a concern for fire and rescue units.
At 4 p.m. on Friday, traffic on Highway 50 was backed up six blocks on the north side of the tracks. Sitting on the south side of the tracks was an ambulance from Pawnee County Hospital waiting in line with lights and sirens for the train to pass.
There are 2 trains a day scheduled to pass through Syracuse after 17 years stop being dormant.
