Snow at rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour expected

NORMAN, OKLA. - Minutes after snow began falling in Nebraska City Tuesday morning, the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla.., forecast snow falling at the rate of one to two inches per hour for areas of Kansas and southern Nebraska.
By daybreak, Cass County transportation reported Highway 50 covered in snow and Brenner Field at Falls City was reporting freezing rain.

10:47 a.m. - Trained spotter reports snow fall at the rate of 2" per hour. 4.5 inches reported at Thayer, Neb. and 6.5" reported at Geneva, Neb.
8:35 a.m. – Plattsmouth airport reports wind chill of 15 degrees
7:54 a.m. – vehicle slide off the road in Louisville blocking snow plow.
6:53 a.m. – Falls City airport reports freezing rain
5:58 a.m. – Cass County transportation reports Highway 50 covered in snow
4:58 a.m. – Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., says snow at rates of one to two inches per hour are likely across Kansas and southern Nebraska. Corridor of freezing rain in Richardson County.
4:35 a.m. – Nebraska City airport reports light snow.
