SIDNEY – The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Chicago man suspected of killing a dog in the parking lot of a truck stop near Percival.

An Iowa judge issued an arrest warrant Dec. 11 for 36-year-old Roi Washington.

A sheriff’s office press releases says deputies were able to determine the dog’s owner, who reported the dog was taken from her residence without her consent.

Fremont County expects to extradite Washington back for a county court appearance.

The sheriff’s office reported in December that video evidence shows a man exit his vehicle and brutally kill the dog with his bare hands and feet. He then used a mobile phone to take a photograph of the deceased dog.
