PLATTSMOUTH – Cass County Sheriff William Brueggemann reports a hit-and-run assault in Avoca Thursday night.

A sheriff’s office press release says deputies and rescue crews were paged to the Avoca bar at 217 Tefft St. for a possible hit-and-run.

Deputies determined that an altercation had taken place outside the bar which ultimately resulted in three people being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. No serious injuries were reported by the victims.

Deputies were able to locate the vehicle, which was registered to 57-year-old Larry Classen of Alvo.

Investigators say security video footage and damage to Classen’s vehicle indicate that he was the driver of the suspect vehicle.

Classen is suspected of second degree assault and driving a vehicle with fictitious plates.
