Pandemic procedures, testing follow Peru State into spring semester
Peru State College officials credit extensive on-campus testing of COVID-19 for on-campus classes this fall and to begin the spring semester

PERU – Peru State College officials credited extensive on-campus testing of COVID-19 for on-campus classes this fall and at Monday’s beginning of the spring semester.
Peru State is dedicated to on-campus testing for students, faculty and staff. Testing is an important part of the College’s plan to keep campus and our community healthy and safe.
Jesse Dorman, vice president of the college’s enrollment and student affairs, said the college is determined to continue policies from the fall and require testing.

Dorman: “We came to this conclusion after examining our cases and quarantines from last semester; and consulting with experts, including the Southeast District Health Department and an alum at the Yale School of Public Health, Joseph Fauver.”
Peru State is worked in partnership with TestNebraska and Corteva of Iowa to administer more than 6,000 tests on campus last fall. The college will continue to administer tests on campus and support vaccination opportunities.
Jason Hogue, the colleges director of marketing and communications, said the pandemic response has guided adjustments to campus life.

Procedures developed over the fall semester for on-campus housing, dining and athletics will continue into the spring semester.
Several college amenities including the library, dining hall and fitness center continue to be closed to the public. Home fans are invited to athletic competitions, but no visiting fans will be admitted through the end of the winter season.
