Assault charge linked to social media
Nebraska City man accused of striking a man on his porch after social media posts

NEBRASKA CITY – Tyler Tillman, 19, of Nebraska City is charged with felony assault on Jan. 3.
Court records say police were dispatched to a First Corso residence where people there described a brawl that ensued after another Nebraska City man kicked down a door and attacked the occupants.
Police say a video of the event does not support that version of events.
An arrest affidavit says Tillman struck the man in the head out of emotion, rather than self-defense.
The alleged victim told police he videotaped the incident because he did not think there would be a fight and he wanted to post the video on social media to show that Tillman was not going to fight him as suggested on previous social media posts.
The alleged victim was treated at CHI Health St. Mary’s for a laceration.
