Fatal grain bin accident near Nehawka
Sheriff says man was working with his grandson on bin door

NEHAWKA - Cass County sheriff’s deputies responded to grain bin accident at 4720 VanDorn St. south of Nehawka at 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday.

A sheriff’s office press release says Timothy Savage, 72, and his juvenile grandson were working on a grain bin door when the grain enclosure failed and covered Savage with corn.
Cass County Sheriff's deputies, Cass County EMS and EMA, Nehawka, Murray and Plattsmouth Fire responded.
Grain extrication efforts were attempted with the lifeless body of Savage recovered.
Savage was pronounced deceased at the scene.
