Winter weather pushing into area

VALLEY - A winter storm warning is in effect for Cass and Lancaster counties until 9 p.m. tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Johnson, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee and Richardson counties until 9 p.m. today.

Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph are expected with gusts up to 50 mph in portions of southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa.

The Nebraska City airport reported wind gusts of 43 mph at 6:35 a.m. and 36 mph hour at 8:30 a.m.

The temperature fell 10 degrees from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Blizzard warnings are issued for six Nebraska counties near Ord, David City and St. Paul.

OPPD reports 34 power outages in Sarpy County Wednesday morning.
