Game & Parks citations hit high mark
Nemaha County leads River Country with 24 cases
AUBURN – Nebraska Game and Parks filed a decade-high 3,771 criminal actions in court during 2020, according to state records that do not include Douglas County.
The case count is 427 cases more than last year and 2,000 more cases than in 2013.
There were 24 cases in Nemaha County, 22 in Otoe and Cass counties, 13 in Richardson and Pawnee counties and eight in Johnson County.
Cases included fishing and hunting violations. An Otoe County case charged overbagging turkey. An Omaha woman was fined in Nemaha County for taking frogs out of season. An Omaha man was fined $150 for killing raccoons without a fur permit last January.
Some citations are issued by the county sheriff's offices, but categorized as game and parks in court records.
