NC Police deliver Christmas gifts

NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City police accomplished this year’s “Shop With A Cop” event in 2020 style.

Police are normally paired with kids so they can shop and wrap gifts together, but a modified event was held this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Officers did all the shopping and wrapping for 10 children who provided their wish list.

On Saturday, police delivered the gifts to residents in Nebraska City neighborhoods.  The sounds of sirens at 9 a.m. captured attention, but when the sirens stopped it was just as easy to hear the sounds of children saying  "Santa Claus is here.'

 

Ofc. Ben Murry said although officers did not get to shop with kids this year, they were still able to enjoy a jolly good time and spread the message of taking care of each other.
