Drizzle turns to snow for River Country
Work continues on Gospel Run in Weeping Water

NEBRASKA CITY - December’s first snow event brought light rain, drizzle and finally up to three inches of snow to areas of River Country.
With snow accumulations over 6 inches in some parts of Nebraska, most of River Country woke Saturday with 1 to three inches.
Temperatures remained above freezing until after 9 p.m. Friday, giving General Excavation more mud than ice to deal with Friday.

Light rain on Friday turned to snow Friday night and Cass County road crews reported slush on highway shoulders.
At 4:35 a.m., the Nebraska City airport reported light snow and wind gusts of 30 mph. Snow cover on Cass County roads was reported an hour later.

The Iowa State Patrol reported multiple slide offs and an injury accident on Interstate 80 when a vehicle hit a guardrail shortly after sunrise Saturday.
Douglas firefighters were called to Highway 2 for a pickup on its top. Firefighters were dispatched expecting extrication, but radio reports say the driver was able to get himself out of the vehicle.
The project in weeping water includes construction of gabion baskets on the banks of Gospel Run.
