Gender Neutrality For Falls City Mayor
FALLS CITY – The Falls City City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Monday.
The agenda include assessments for removal of tall weeds at two residences, an ordinance regarding the duties of mayor and board of works training, hydrants and equipment purchases.
An executive session is planned regarding a grievance from the CWA Union.
Ordinance 2020-104 would amend the city code regarding mayor duties to make the provisions gender neutral.
The mayor’s duties include:
- Preside over meetings
- Vote to break a tie on the council
- Sign documents except those under mayoral veto
- Remit fines or pardon offenses of city ordinance
- Remove at any time an appointed police officer
