Falls City police report higher seat belt use

FALLS CITY – Falls City police report 88 traffic stops in the recent Click It or Ticket mobilization and increased seat belt use.

Police worked overtime Nov. 16-29 on a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.

Police issued 51 citations, including 10 fore seatbelt violations.

Officers also arrested two fugitives and made two drug cases. Police responded to 161 cases for service, including eight accidents.

A pre-mobilization survey indicated seat belt use was about 41 percent in the city. A post-mobilization survey indicated seat belt use was at 55 percent.
