TECUMSEH – A Feb. 9 jury trial is scheduled for a Tecumseh woman accused of responsibility for a barn fire at Tecumseh Poultry that killed over 20,000 chickens.

Kimberly Bohling, 54, is charged with three counts of burglary in February and March of 2019, arson in April of 2019 and intentional cruelty to animals.

Bohling is a former employee who is accused of tampering with controls at the barn in February and March and again 34 minutes before the fire on April 5.

Prosecutors say tire tracks found near a gate on the poultry farm match the tread of a vehicle found at Bohling’s residence, but defense attorneys says the tread pattern is common. The state also says it will introduce Google maps data at trial.

Bohling is said to have eaten dinner in Filley, but prosecutors say she returned to the Tecumseh area about an hour before the controls were tampered with.
