Update:  The Otoe County Sheriff's Office has identified drivers of an Oct. 13 collision on Road 68 between a combine and pickup truck.

The truck was driven by 55-year-old Virgil Fox of Nebraska City and the combine was driven by 43-year-old Jason Kreifels of Nebraska City. Damage to the combine is estimated at $20,000 and damage to the pickup at $9,000.

The accident report says the driver of the pickup may have had a medical issue prior to the collision.

NEBRASKA CITY  - A pickup driver suffered minor injuries after a head-on collision with a combine harvester on 68th Road south of Nebraska City.

The northbound pickup truck and combine met on the bottom of a hill, where  a grove of maple trees hung over the roadway.  The combine had moved over to avoid the branches and the truck remained along the centerline.

An Otoe County sheriff’s deputy says there were signs of braking from the pickup only moments before the collision and airbag deployment.

Nebraska City Fire and Rescue transported the pickup driver for injuries and for assessment. The driver of the combine was not injured.
