Extension Plans Seminar On Solar Leasing

SYRACUSE – With a solar arrays proposed over at least 700 acres in Otoe and Cass counties, University of Nebraska Extension has scheduled a seminar regarding solar land leases.

A “Solar Land Lease Considerations for Landowners” workshop is scheduled online from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9.

A press release says Otoe County has the potential for solar development through the Omaha Public Power District. Otoe County commissioners earlier gave their approval for the concept of solar energy after meeting with Sandhills Energy.

The Zoom meeting will include speakers  John Hay of the UNL Department of Biosystems Engineering, Eric Romich an Ohio State field specialist and Peggy Kirk of the Ohio State ag and resource law program.
