TECUMSEH – Trail of Treasures is going border to border across southern Nebraska the first weekend in October, Oct. 3-4.

The  lineup includes flea markets, garage sales and antiques along Highway 136, and extending highways to reach the Colorado border.

Judy Coe of Tecumseh said the ninth year for the event has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, but is expected to attract travelers from Oklahoma, Arkansas and Illinois, as well as adjacent states.

Highway 136, known as the byway by event organizers, was designated in 1999 from Brownville to Edison, Neb. It originally covered 10 counties, but has grown to include seven more -- Dundy, Hitchcock, Otoe, Pawnee, Red Willow, Richardson and Saline counties.

Coe said this year’s event features re purposed items, collectibles, shabby, vintage, primitive and exclusive junk.
