Body Found In Burned Car Near Plattsmouth

PLATTSMOUTH – The Nebraska Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating after a body was found in a burned vehicle on Church Road Monday morning.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded, along with Murray Fire and Rescue, to a report of a car on fire just west of 12th Street, just over a mile from Highway 75 and the Plattsmouth Airport.

A sheriff’s office press release says a 2014 Ford Fusion was engulfed in flames when personnel arrived.

After getting the fire under control, it was discovered that there was a body in the back seat of the vehicle. The state Fire Marshall was called out to conduct an investigation.
