Johnson County's Sheriff's Office Interferes With Prison Contraband Supply

TECUMSEH – The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office suspects they have interfered in a supply line of contraband into the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution.
An affidavit in support of the arrest of 18-year-old Daniel Bol of Omaha outlines numerous packages being found inside of the prison’s perimeter fence and a sheriff’s deputy report that patrols on Road 730 north of the prison have been an enforcement priority since July.
The deputy told the court that he noticed a Ford Escape with metro plates on the road north of the prison around 6:15 a.m. on July 31. The K9 Norra indicated to the presence of illegal drugs in the car.
The driver told investigators that she had been recruited to a take a man from Omaha to Tecumseh and had arrived around 3 a.m. She said the man left the car with two packages and returned to the car with two packages about three hours later, complaining that he could not deliver the packages because the guards were there.
An arrest affidavit says the packages contained cell phones, Adderall pills, shredded tobacco-like material, lighters and folded paper that appeared to have been soaked in something.
The deputy says fragments from a coat taken from the car were found on strands of barbed wire around the state property.
