PLATTSMOUTH  - A Sudan national is charged in Cass County with sexual assault of a minor on allegations stemming from an overnight stay at Carol Joy Holling Camp at Ashland.

Court records say 20-year-old  Santino Kenyi was a camp counselor in July when a girl reported the assault. The alleged victim said other campers fell asleep after a late-night movie, but she was cold and sought out help.

Investigators obtained a DNA sample from Kenyi after he returned to Cloud Community College in Concordia, Kan.

Court records say DNA evidence supports portions of the 14-year-old girl’s report to authorities. Investigators say Kenyi denies sexual contact with the girl.
