Otoe, Cass Counties Among State Hotspots For Coronavirus
Cass and Otoe Counties each had 45 positive cases in the past two weeks
NEBRASKA CITY – Otoe and Cass county’s 45 positive tests in the last 14 days place them in a tie for the 10th most active counties in Nebraska for the coronavirus.
In the past two weeks, Nemaha County has had 29 confirmed cases. There are 12 counties in Nebraska with no cases.
Taylor County Iowa reported its first death associated with COVID-19. The individual was over 80 years old.
Brown County, Kan., also reports its first coronavirus death. The resident was over age 65. The health department reports of 70 positive cases, 57 have recovered.
The Sarpy Cass Health Department risk dial is in the moderate range and has been steady since Aug. 10.
There are four active cases in the Plattsmouth area and one active case near Avoca. The district reports 19 deaths since the pandemic began.
The Southeast District Health Department reports 216 confirmed cases, including 131 in the last 30 days. There were 43 cases the week of Aug. 22.
There have been 92 cases in Otoe County, 62 in Nemaha County, 21 in Johnson County, 31 in Richardson County and 10 in Pawnee County.
