LaVista man said teen lied to him about her grades

PLATTSMOUTH  - Dale Barber, 39, of LaVista was sentenced to two years probation for child abuse in September of 2019.

A Cass County sheriff’s deputy reported to the court that he photographed red marks and bruises on a 15-year-old girl’s thighs and waist.

Barber told investigators he had used a belt to spank the teen because she had lied about bad grades at school.

Barber was also sentenced to 15 days in jail over five consecutive weekends.
