Maxwell Sentenced For Parking Lot Attack
Injured man said he was run down by a car, but crawled to safety at Eagles parking lot

NEBRASKA CITY – Emmanuel Maxwell, 28, of Nebraska City was sentenced to one to five years in jail for assault in September of 2019.
Police arrested Maxwell after responding to a report of an assault with a motor vehicle in the parking lot of the Eagles Club.
Court records say the injured man, Allen Smith, said he and Maxwell had argued while staying at Linda Zook’s residence. Smith told investigators he was hit by a car while he walked away from the residence and crawled between two cars in the parking lot out of fear that he would be hit again.
Witnesses told police they heard a man screaming in pain and saw someone get out of a car, walk over to the man and then leave.
Maxwell was also sentenced to a year for use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and a year for failure to render aid.
