Update: Charges Pending After Fatal Motorcycle Crash On Highway 2
PALMYRA – Emergency crews responded to a Highway 2 fatality crash near Palmyra just before noon on Saturday.
Otoe County Sheriff Colin Caudill said a westbound motorcycle hit a pickup truck that was turning into the driveway of the Palmyra Livestock Market.
A sheriff's office press release says Kevin Davidson, 41, of Syracuse was westbound when his motorcycle struck the side of a pickup truck, which was driven by Edwin Belina Jr., 52, of Norfolk.
The press release says Belina had been traveling in the eastbound lanes of Highway 2 and turned north toward the driveway.
Davidson died at the scene.
Belina was taken to a hospital for observation.
The press release says charges are pending against Belina.
A medical helicopter was put on standby but not deployed to the accident scene.
