LINCOLN  - The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services reports the capture of an escaped Nebraska inmate in Texas.

Brandon Britton and another inmate are suspected of removing electronic monitoring devices and failure to return to the Community Corrections Center in Lincoln on May 21.

He was arrested in Franklin County, Texas after leading officers on a six-mile chase.

Britton is serving a 10-year sentence in the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) for convictions in Seward and Douglas counties that include first degree assault, methamphetamine charges and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. His sentence started January 23, 2018.

The current whereabouts of the other inmate, 52-year-old Ronald Taylor, are unknown.
