NCTC Proposes Eighth Street For Farmers Market
NCTC would add six more vendors during pandemic
NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce is hoping to expand the weekly farmers market to Eighth Street.
NCTC says the 2020 Farmers Market is a success so far this year, but has been limited to 10 vendors in order to meet social distancing directives.
Organizers are asking the city council for approval to add six more vendors in June by expanding into Eighth Street from Central Avenue to First Corso. They would also use the Veterans Memorial Building parking lot from 3 to 6 p.m. through Aug. 29.
A fall market is also proposed from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. It will be outside, but could move indoors to the Veterans Memorial Building basement.
