Downtown Movie Series Delayed

NEBRASKA CITY – The start of the 2020 Downtown Movie Series in Nebraska City has been delayed.
A press release from Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce says the movie series is “on hold for the foreseeable future” due to uncertainty about gathering restrictions and availability of movies.
The free event, which normally occurs on Saturday nights in the summer in the Sunken Parking Lot on Central Avenue, draws an average of 120 people. However, recent health directives from the state have a limit of 25 people or 50 percent of total occupancy.
Tammy Partsch of NCTC said since movie theaters are preparing to re-open there is uncertainty about family-friendly movies that are available for the downtown movie series.
The 2020 Downtown Summer Movie Series was scheduled to begin on June 6.
