PERU - The Peru Community Impact Group reports a successful planting of spring flowers downtown. A revised scheduled for Old Man River Days is expected soon.

The festival was marred last year by record flooding on the Platte and Missouri rivers and it appears to be impacted by this year's pandemic.

Old Man River Days, which traces its origins to 1943, is scheduled June 5-7.

The group did report a successful adopt-a-pot for Mother’s Day campaign. The city donated the flowers and volunteers planted them in downtown planters. All pots were adopted.

Earlier during the pandemic, the Community Impact Group sponsored a drive-up distribution of cleaning supplies. The supplies were taken from an overabundance of cleaning supplies the city received during the flooding of 2019.
