Peru Reports On Long Term Flood Recovery

 PERU – The City of Peru posted a flood response report in May updating citizens on long-term solutions for the water systems.

The report says JEO Consulting has contacted Nebraska City Utilities about a water connection.

The city is conducting a lifecycle cost analysis regarding the option of a Nebraska City connection.

The city is still working with state officials to determine the level of flood protection required for the wastewater treatment facility.

The water treatment plant is under review by FEMA and could received federal funding.

The city reports that work is being done to obtain state funds to move forward with an engineering study for levee repair.
