AUBURN – The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office reports an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run just outside of Auburn on Sunday, May 10.

Deputies served a search warrant in Auburn that resulted in the recovery of a vehicle that is suspected to have struck the pedestrian.

The victim, 23-year-old Katelynne Moore, remains in a Lincoln hospital.

A sheriff’s office press release says the warrant was the result of several tips from the public and deputies eliminating vehicles matching the description of the vehicle being sought.

The suspected driver, 33-year-old Dustin Pierce of Auburn, was located Wednesday.

He is suspected of leaving the scene of a crash causing serious bodily injury.

Deputies found Moore lying near 26th Street shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The public was asked to help located a gray 2010 to 2103 Ford Fusion or similar car with front end damage.
