Nebraska City Plans Graduates' Cruise

Citizens encouraged to maintain social distancing on designated route

NEBRASKA CITY – The Nebraska City City Council offered is approval for a Nebraska City High School graduation cruise at 1 p.m. on Mothers’ Day, Sunday, May 10.

Graduates are invited to follow a designated route in their vehicles while community members maintain social distancing on sidewalks, yards or school property.

 

From the high school, the route will go east on Second Avenue to 16th Street and north to Frontage Road. It will take 14th Avenue east to north 11th and take 10th Street south to First Avenue.

 

 

On First Avenue the route goes east to Sixth Street and takes Sixth Street to First Corso. First Corso will go west to 16th and back to Central Avenue and west.

The cruise is scheduled on the day the commencement ceremony had been scheduled at the high school.

Principal Brian Hoover said the school is still planning a traditional graduation ceremony later this summer.
