Driver Smashes Into Wall On Courthouse Grounds

PLATTSMOUTH - Cass County Sheriff William Brueggemann reports a vehicle ran into a brick wall on the west grounds of the Cass County Courthouse on Wednesday morning.

A press release says a 2018 Toyota Highlander, driven by 50-year-old Elaine Berg of Bellevue, hit the wall near the sidewalk on north Fourth Street.

Berg was in the process of parking when she mistakenly pressed down on the accelerator and jumped over the sidewalk and struck the wall to the access ramp.

 There were no injuries and seatbelts were in use. Damage to the vehicle and wall is over $1,500.
