Auburn Man Arrested For Traffic Death
Lancaster County Sheriff's Office suspects man was under the influence while driving in the wrong lane
LINCOLN - An Auburn man has been arrested for a deadly crash near Panama on Feb. 15, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
Jeffrey Woutzke, 34, was driving on Highway 43 when his Jeep Cherokee collided head-on with a Ford Focus driven by Morgan Rodgers, 20, of Lincoln. Rodgers was pronounced dead at the scene.
A sheriff’s office press release says an accident reconstruction investigation showed Woutzke was driving south in the northbound lane.
The sheriff’s office says Woutzke was under the influence of controlled substances. Deputies said a search of his Jeep revealed 3.6 grams of a controlled substance.
