Nemaha County Fair Scheduled Later In Summer
Madison County now has the first fair scheduled in Nebraska

AUBURN – The Nemaha County Fair has traditionally been among Nebraska’s first fairs of the season, but is benefiting from last year’s decision to move the fair until later in the summer.
The Nemaha County Agricultural Society voted last November to move the fair from its traditional calendar slot on July 9 to August 9-12. The move was to accommodate fair events and was made long before the coronavirus health crisis.
The move leaves the Madison County Fair near Norfolk as the first fair in the state on July 7.
Other 2020 fairs scheduled are:
- Pawnee County, July 15-18
- Fremont County, July 25-Aug.1
- Otoe County, July 23-26
- Cass County, Aug 5-8
- Nemaha County, Aug. 9-12
- Johnson County, Aug 13-16
- Richardson County, Sept. 16-19
- The Nebraska State Fair is Aug. 28-Sept. 7
The Nemaha County Fair will start Aug. 9 with the 4-H horse and poultry shows. A parade is scheduled at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, and on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
The presentation of the McIninch judging trophy and herdsmanship awards is at 6 p.m. on Aug. 12.
