MARYVILLE – The Atchison County Health Department and Atchison County Emergency Management issued a statement Wednesday about the Missouri county’s first confirmed case of COVID-19.

Medical Director Dr. Richard Burke announced a resident had tested positive. The female patient is age 70+ and is experiencing mild illness.

She is isolating at home.

She has had very few contacts in Atchison County, however, she did travel to a high population area.
