NEBRASKA CITY – Chase Borrego, 26, of Nebraska City was sentenced to 18 months in prison and a year of post-release supervision for attempted assault on an officer Nov. 21.

Police responded to a disturbance at Borrego’s grandparents’ house. Prosecutors say Borrego struck an officer who was trying to make contact with a woman inside Lot 52 of the Fifth Corso residence.

The woman refused to be seen by the rescue squad, but told officers she had been badly beaten.

Borrego had been sentenced to 142 days in county jail in September on a possession charge.
