Text Messages Lead Police To Stolen Colt Pistol

NEBRASKA CITY – Police arrested Travis Veydt, 31, for suspicion of stealing a Colt 45 pistol from a residence where he had been staying.

An arrest affidavit said police found a stolen X-box video game in  backpack that the Nebraska City man was carrying prior to his arrest.

The gun’s owner showed police a text message involving Veydt  that talked about bringing the gun to an Eighth Avenue residence, where it was recovered by police.
