Bobcats Cheer Team Competes At Conference
Peru State seventh in the first-year of competition
PERU – In its first official year of competition, the Peru State competitive cheer team finished seventh out of nine teams in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) Cheer Championship.
The championship for both cheer and dance was hosted by MidAmerica Nazarene in Olathe, Kan., on Saturday.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Missouri Valley competitive cheer program secured the Heart title.
Coach Brooke Earnest was again proud of her team’s efforts.
Earnest: “This team has continued to improve and while we did not have our highest score, we did not have any deductions.”
She said the conference traditionally has tough cheer competitions and she is pleased with the Bobcat’s finish for its first year.

An opportunity to compete in the NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance National Championship can be earned on Saturday, Feb. 29, when Baker hosts the NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance Southeast Regional Qualifier.
