Leonardo Wins 2020 Avoca Quack Off

AVOCA – Ryan Leonardo was the winner of the 2020 Avoca Quackoff.

Presenting the first place trophy were firefighter Marty Brammier and Nadine Dettmer Kreifels, the daughter of Vernie Dettmer.

The Omaha racer was among 300 duck entries for the 40^th annual Avoca Quack Off.

Leonardo has attended the five previous quack offs.

Vern Dettmer helped start the fundraiser 40 years ago on a local ice pond and the Avoca Fire Department has made it into a winter event attracting over 4,000 spectators.
