TECUMSEH – A Tecumseh woman is accused of stealing the identify of an alzheimer’s patient  to run up over $31,000 in credit card charges.

The Johnson County Attorney’s Office has filed identity theft charges against Jaclyn Goracke, 41.

An arrest affidavit says two credit cards were opened using the Alzheimer’s patient’s personal financial information. Prosecutors claim one account had 133 transactions and an unpaid balance of $13,645 before the bank closed it. The other had 152 transactions and $17,517 unpaid.
