Jail Searches Result In Meth Charges

FALLS CITY – Falls City police arrested 36-year-old Amanda Teixeira of Falls City on Dec. 16.
The Richardson County court issued an arrest warrant Dec. 2 after Teixeira failed to appear for a court hearing on a criminal mischief charge.
Police say a search of her purse at the county jail revealed a broken pipe with meth residue and prescription pills, including methylphenidate.
Methylphenidate is used to treat attention deficit disorder and is sold under the trade name Ritalin.
A possession of methamphetamine has also been filed against 39-year-old Matthew Gilbert after a jail search.
A sheriff’s deputy arrested Gilbert in Humboldt after a Cass County judge issued a time pay warrant. Gilbert had been sentenced to $500 for driving under suspension and $1,000 for no proof of insurance. A Warrant was issued Nov. 26 when he failed to appear in court.
An arrest affidavit says jail administration informed officers that methamphetamine was found in Gilbert’s wallet during the booking process.
