PALMYRA - A northeast Nebraska school administrator is leaving to take over as superintendent of a southern Nebraska school district.

Officials in the Palmyra School District announced Monday that Mike Hart has been named their district's new superintendent. Hart has been with the Norfolk School District since 2001, most recently serving as the district's director of human resources. He was previously the principal at Norfolk Junior High.

Hart was selected from a pool of four finalists, all of whom interviewed with the board of education, staff and student groups on Saturday.

Hart will begin in Palmyra in July. He takes over for Rob Hanger, who is retiring after ten years as the district's superintendent.
