AUBURN – The Nemaha County Attorney’s Office has filed a felony charge against a 39-year-old Auburn man alleging possession of child pornography.

Phillip Gerdes is also charged with seven counts of child abuse under a section of Nebraska law pertaining to a child’s physical or mental health and sexual exploitation.

The complaint  filed by Deputy Nemaha County Attorney Angelo Ligouri alleges crimes against a person under the age of 17. Charges alleged crimes in December of 2018 to February of 2019, June of 2017, July of 2017, April or May of 2018, June 16 of 2018, July of 2018, November or December of 2018 and April 20, 2019.

An arrest warrant was issued for Phillip Gerdes on Dec. 6 and bond set at $25,000.

As a condition of $2,500 bond provision, Judge Curtis Maschmann ordered that Gerdes have no contact with the alleged victim and only supervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.
