PLATTSMOUTH – A Plattsmouth police detective says suspicious driving led to a drug arrest and seizure of 64 grams of methamphetamine.

Detective Matt Watson told the Cass County Court that he was patrolling in Plattsmouth on Nov. 27 and thought the driver of Chevrolet Tahoe was trying to avoid him by pulling into a driveway.

The man admitted that he did not know the residents at the house and the detective told the court that the man’s cell phone history did not support his story about pulling into the driveway to return a call from his mother.

The man reportedly gave police his phone for them to check out his explanation for parking in the driveway. The detective said the phone continued to receive messages on the subject of distribution of drugs.

An arrest affidavit says the 64 grams were found in two separate bags.

A $50,000 bond was set for 29-year-old Michael Gruhn-McLaughlin, who is scheduled for preliminary hearing on Jan. 28.
