Underwood Enters Plea To Sexual Assault Of A Child
NEBRASKA CITY – Ray Underwood, 46, of Syracuse entered a guilty plea Monday to first degree sexual assault of a child.
Deputy Otoe County Attorney John Palmtag said under a plea agreement state and federal authorities will not seek additional charges related to a warrant search of Underwood’s computer.
Palmtag said an Otoe County sheriff’s deputy was called to the medical clinic in Syracuse where a seven-year-old girl had come in for an examination. Palmtag said the deputy later reported that Underwood admitted that sexual penetration of the child had occurred at various times.
Palmtag said the last offense occurred in May of 2019.
Public Defender Michael Ziskey asked for a psychological evaluation of Underwood prior to sentencing, which is scheduled Feb. 20th.
