NEBRASKA CITY – The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office is participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign from Dec. 13 to Jan. 1.

Sheriff Colin Caudill said extra deputies will be on patrol during the grant period.

Caudill: “It’s a national campaign that we typically participate in. It coincides with the holiday seasons, so there is an influx of travelers on the roadway and we’re just encouraging people to travel safely.”

Saturation patrols with special emphasis on Nebraska’s driving while impaired laws are paid for by a Nebraska Office of Highway Safety grant.

Sheriff Caudill encouraged motorist to enjoy the holidays, but drive responsibly and take their time while traveling the roadways.
